a Curse upon my House

You know, you try the best you can; feed 'em, exercise 'em, play with 'em, brush 'em and love 'em.
You leave fabulous parties early, just so that you can let them out.
And you get up early on cold winter morning--just to let them out.
There is no better mother in the whole wide world.
And what do you get for all this love and devotion? How do they repay your kindness and love?
I'll tell you how... fleas. Effing FLEAS!! That's how. And it starts with the simple bite here and a simple bite there. You think it's just a little mosquito got in because of the humidity.
And you notice another one, this time on the ankle. Another one on the back of your neck. Now you think...hmmm could be fleas... but the dogs aren't scratching-- you do a cursory check, nothing.
Then. Yesterday, while sitting outside. I noticed something on Poppy's forehead-- moving, I checked further and found another. FLEAS !!
By then I was itching all over just thinking about.
I immediately took the dogs in the house, changed my clothes and raced to the grocery store to load up on flea supplies- for me, for the dogs, and for the house. I came home and started spraying--everything. I only hope this will not take forever, because it gives me the creeps.
So now --I not only look like a Cyclops-I look like a Cyclops with pox. Not only do they itch, I am sure I will end up with some vermin-borne disease, which will require massive doses of IV antibiotics, and result in permanent disfiguration and terminal lameness.arrggh.
And! my swamp cooler isn't working yet...double arrgggh.

I do so try to be tolerant of all of God's lil' chillrun (well, with the exception of Dubya and Paris Hilton), but, yeah, fleas. Bummer. Hope it all works out.

Ook, that's no fun. Fleas are not our friends. If you had a hotline to the dead, you could just ask your mama to zap 'em. I'm just saying.
