huh? oh yeah, the Blog

Sometimes I'm just too busy to this blog business, today was one of those days. I had you post office-y things, I had to do financial business-things and insurance quote stuff (I love that little gecko, love him, love him, love him). And suddenly I looked and it is 6:30 p.m. goodness. Where does the time go.

So, to make up for my lapse, I will provide one important, basic bit of business, a little-known fun fact that you will now have--
Why is it called "Bluetooth."? Bluetooth is named after the Viking king Harald "Bluetooth" Gormson, who unlike most Vikings, preferred to talk instead of fight. The Bluetooth logo is actually his initials spelled in Nordic runes.

I have actually been quite disturbed and saddened about the shootings at Virginia Tech ( I have a nephew in college and I was compelled to email him), and also about the current debacle and far-reaching implications of language in our society.

We at Landmark have a saying, "words create worlds." And hasn't that born out to be the truth. This week Oprah has conducted a town hall for the last two days on hip-hop, rap and the ramifications on society.I said it before, and I believe that, even more now that we are seeing only the tip of the iceberg, we have reached critical mass with what will be acceptable, no more excuses, it is time for a change.

That's all I've got, maybe tomorrow my brain will be working.
