I know that this may not endear me to the Rose, but though I do love his sweet need to be loved (indeed totally identify with it), and his passion - filtered through that emotion - is very real, but I do not care for his sound. I think people were partly reacting to Puccini's genius. Nevetheless, he seems to be a world-wide phenomenon at this point. Maybe ya had to be there. So more power to him and we shall see.
That sweet singing made me forget all about his bad teeth. I wanted to kiss him. Bravo!
